The exhibition titled „The Power of Fantasy. Modern and Contemporary Art form Poland” and inaugurating the Polish Presidency in the European Union has been opened in Palais des Beaux-Arts BOZAR in Brussels.
Part of the exhibition titled „The Power of Fantasy. Modern and Contemporary Art form Poland” opening the Polish Presidency in the European Union is MEDIATEKA – the exposition designed by the Polish designer Tomek Rygalik and his STUDIO. It can be visited from 23rd June to 21st September in Palais des Beaux-Arts BOZAR in Brussels. The initiative is supported by Pfleiderer Grajewo SA.
It’s a multifunctional space combining art and design. It belong to the category “site-specific” which means that the installation is closely related to the place it is being presented in. The unique system of arrangement of the functional objects and their location in the space has been designed in a way to become a functional supplement of the presentation of the contemporary Polish art. The object which fill the space do not refer to the traditional typology of furniture – they are quasi-abstract geometrical lumps creating spatial composition. In reality these objects are the result of the creative search for the new functional needs – says Tomasz Rygalik, the author of the project.
Extraordinary space of MFP® panels
MEDIATEKA generates conditions to familiarize with the Polish art a bit closer through the presented set of publications and multimedia materials as well as experiencing this extraordinary space itself. Thanks to its open character, the interior encourages to individual work as well as meetings, presentations and discussions in a bigger group. all the elements filling the space of MEDIATEKA have been created from the multifunctional MFP® panels, manufactured by Pfleiderer Grajewo SA. I chose this material for my project again. The multifunctional MFP® panel is highly inspirational due to its exceptional properties – not only constructional but also aesthetic. What is more, IT IS ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY and IS multi-purpose. It is perfect not only for building but also as a material to create ORIGINAL interior designs. The wood-based properties of the MFP® panels make people feel comfortable when it comes to a closer contact. The application of MFP® panels also proves care for mindful management of natural resources in the process of creation of the material culture that surround us. It is a vital requirement for both the designers of the project and its partner – Pfleiderer Grajewo SA – Tomek Rygalik adds. The application of MFP® panels creates a possibility to show original functional solutions in arts. It also indicates the young talented designers the trends of searching for new, daring ideas to combine raw, natural materials with the world of art and, as a consequence, to create new quality which the applied art really is. I am really glad that once again we can get engaged in the projects promoting the Polish designers of functional art. It is very important to us for two main reasons: first, we are proud that our designers belong to the European, or even world elite; second, it is nice that they take our wood-based materials and use them to create art. This, in turn, inspires us to seek for new applications of the multifunctional MFP® panel as well as other products – The President of Pfleiderer Grajewo SA, Wojciech Gątkiewicz adds.
